22/ 03/2021 World Water Day

Mondays always start with a hope of getting good experiences, hope to discover myself, hope not to repeat the mistakes again, hope to be a better person… etc. After the prayer I reached the general hall. Maya teacher took the first hour. 22^nd March is WORLD WATER DAY mam talked about some facts regarding water.

 Initial half-hour we discussed Cultural Diffusion, Cultural lag, Enculturation, Acculturation, Cultural Inertia, Sanskritization and Role of education with regard to culture. English optional continued their seminar. 

Next hour was engaged by the principal sir. Sir first gave a gist of the previous class and brushed up our memory. Sir talked about Heterogeneous thinking- heterogeneity of thinking means that in any culture and in any individual, there exists no one, homogeneous form of thinking, but different types of verbal thinking. So a teacher needs to focus his or her students into a homogeneous process of thinking while they are ready to deliver concepts. Then discussed different types of questions. First one was a Developmental question here the teacher uses this question to develop the learner’s thinking beyond simple recall or knowledge and experience make teachers to form this kind of questions.

Next one was Evaluation questions. It can be Summative, Formative and Diagnostic.  Formative questions or assessment used during the learning process in order to enhance learning. Summative questions used at the end of the learning process. Used to make judgement on the student learning process. Diagnostic questions are designed to help identify and crucially understand student’s mistakes and misconceptions in an efficient and accurate manner. Prognostic assessments act as a means of estimation and prediction of the future career. Another term is aptness which is depending on the age group.

Next sir taught about Probing and Redirection. Probing means the ability of a teacher to provide some clues to the students so that the thought process of the student will be focused and generation of correct response will take place. Redirection means shifting from one student to another student to get the correct response. Another term appreciation which means giving a kind of recognition at the end of the successful response of the student, an act of reinforcement. Then we discussed the 4^th sub skill: Skill of Explanation.

All the union members were called for a meeting. Principal sir talked to us and provided valuable information for the proper conduction of the union inauguration ceremony. And enquired about all the plans and preparations we had in mind. We discussed the programs and presented the program schedule with the teachers. They gave us different suggestions and ideas. Gibi ma’am, Shiney ma’am and Rakesh Sir also talked to us regarding their experience from previous college unions. We got tea and snacks at the end of the meeting. As a surprise Albin Father brought Snickers in happiness of having his priesthood ordination. I think the whole nature was so happy today, beautiful rain drizzled over the earth and gave mother earth a beautiful fragrance once again. We took photos in the rain in different poses. 23 year old grown up babies always wish to play in rain…….

Tuesdays are transformative. Today I reached Theophilus by 9 am first hour was taken by Ancy ma’am. Today we studied about western thinker Maria Montessori. Maria Montessori was an Italian physician, educator, and innovator, acclaimed for her educational method that builds on the way children learn naturally. She opened the first Montessori school—the Casa dei Bambini. And we learned more about the thinker.

 Then Maya teacher arrived, Ma’am give us some ideas about those works we have to submit in completion of first semester. And she gave an idea about how to prepare MCQ. Then we discussed about what is culture and what all factors affect culture, and cultural lag.

Then next class was by Joju sir. Sir taught us about one of the audio visual aid blackboard. Its merits and demerits in using a blackboard. Then discussed about remaining non projecting visual aids – bulletin board, notice board, flannel board, magnetic board, peg board and 3 aids- Diaroma, Models, Mockups. Then discussed about Multimedia learning and Multisensory learning importance and its benefits.

Last hours were taken by Lakshmi teacher. Today also we formed our groups. Today we learned classical music. She taught us Onnam kalam of Mayamalavagoula ragam. The raga we learned SA RI GA MA PA DA NI SA      SA NI DA PA MA GA RI SA.  And the class ended with practising it several times. I love to sing but don’t have breath control but I will improve it.

Today I reached College by 9.30 am so I rushed to Maya Ma'am class, her pleasant smile give some positivity. We learned about educational sociology. Educational Sociology is the application of sociological principles to the field of education.

School is considered as a miniature of society,Both education and Society are inter related to each other.

Then next hour was taken by Ancy ma'am Ma'am took the remaining portion about thinker Frobel 

Educational Philosophy of of Froebel include👉The principle of unity, Principle of development, Principle of self activity.

Chief features of Educational Philosophy are 👉Creative of childhood,Totality of educational endeavour, Concept of play.

According to him aim of Education is👉 to Realize the unity principles,Growth from within, All around development of an individual.

Proposed Methods of Teaching are👉Teaching through gifts and occupation,Teaching through play, Teaching through play songs. 

Maya Ma'am and Joju sir lead us to the Auditorium and had a surprise for us, they introduced a Communicative English course for BEd student teachers.Main aim of this course is to impore the English speaking skills of us.

Six students were chosen for coordinating the course-Uthara, a language communication expert herself, Kavya, Jis and Gayathri from English and P8raveen from Mathematics.

We were shown a talk given by a professor from Osmania University, Dr. Sumita Roy, a  renowned language expert.

Women Cell got inaugurated and they organized a program. To write a caption to the given image.

 

Afternoon class was handled by Shiney ma'am. We studied about Maxims of Teaching.

Happy International Women’s Day 💜💛💙❤💛💙💚💜💜💚💙💙💚💛💛❤💜💚💙

Principal informed us that 65^th college union election will be conducted today. First hour was taken by Gibi ma’am. She taught us about personality and ho important one’s personality is and proper development of personality is very important. One person is always judged by others on his or her personality. The development of personality is affected by different features.

Next hour Maya mam came and continues the last school of philosophy humanism. 

After that we had our optional class Subinjith and Fathima taken microteaching lessons. After that we take measurements for lab coat. Women’s club celebrated the Women’s day and scheduled a list of competitions that will conduct on friday.

Hour after lunch break was taken by Joju sir.

Then College union election was conducted. Subinjith was elected as College Chairman and Aleena from mathematics will be our Vice chairperson and Nikhil from Physical science is our General Secretary. i am also happy to be a part of this Union. After the assembly to announce the elected candidates we went to home.

 

08/02/2021 GIVE MORE 💓 expect less

Day started with a prayer at college chapel. First hour was taken by Gibi ma’am. Ma’am share an idea or concept that we should follow, ie; Shrink The Glass of Expectation. When we follow this we will never have a complaint regarding our life. The second class was taken by Maya ma’am, she continued teaching schools of philosophy, today we discussed about aim curriculum and self-realization in idealism. 

Next two hours we spent in our optional class. Ma’am gave us time to practice for talent hunt and also we cleaned our lab and side room. In afternoon session our principal sir taught us. Sir give an idea of different generation which classified based on the technological advancements during that particular period of time. People born between 1944-1964 are called Baby boomers, the people born between 1964-1984 are called X generation or digital migrants and people born between 1984-2004 are called Y generation or digital natives. The one who born between 2004 -2024 are called z generation or millennials. Sir concluded the class by saying a quote by Swami Vivekananda “The function of a teacher is to pull out the blanket of ignorance from the mind of the learner”. Last hour was taken by Joju sir and we had panel discussion, representatives from six optional was there. Topic for panel discussion was Social media addiction in children and how we can help children to get out of this dilemma aid by (role of teachers, parents, by using videos short films, password security, child lock software’s etc. 4 department presented their ideas and we are waiting for the next two too.

10/03/2021 Last Day of induction- Sky like a white cotton wool

Today was a beautiful day.

 In second day of induction, we all reached by 8am and we signed our attendance then we collected some more details about the school from the school diary and magazine. Like yesterday we get a chance to manage classroom while conducting exam, today I accompanied senior teacher Veena ma’am an awesome Malayalam teacher. We distributed question papers by 9 am then 3 minutes before exam we distributed the answer sheets too to fill the mandatory details such as name, roll number and class. I still get the same class I did exam duty. Today they have English exam. Veena teacher is so friendly; more than a teacher she seems to more alike a sister an elder sister. Very innocent women, a dedicated teacher, hard worker.

 After exam we went to see the school for one more time later that we talked with Vice principal and get an overall idea about administration, curriculum, teachers hardships, duties and many things about SARVODAYA VIDYALAYA. Then we had taken photo with Vice principal after that we had a photo session of student teachers

09/03/2021 Had a Good Day at Sarvodaya - 1st day induction programme.

Today was the 1^st day of induction at SARVODAYA VIDYALAYA CICSE school.

 I was so happy and excited about what all things we will learn from there. First we met respected principal sir James T Joseph. I am so happy to see him again, I am a student of him all those memories in Ivanios flickered in my mind. Then we are assigned to go to examination hall. There was a senior teacher in my class named bobby. She is so friendly, she who teaches English for both HSE and ISCE classes. There were 9 students in the class. All of them were boys. Question paper and answer sheets were distributed and exam started by 9.15 am. Today they had Geography examination. During the exam time I get so much time to observe each student. Each one is special, there is a left hand writer, a fastest writer, a thinker, the who need extra time to complete answer sheets, and a restless one, but everyone is only concerned on their own matters. I felt goosebumps when they call me teacher. At that time, I found happy for taking B.Ed., that respect and love that we get from students is much more than all those adversities we had to face to accomplish our dream. After examination duty by 11.15 we went to see the college. We saw labs, WebEx classrooms, library, and other facilities that are available to both students and teachers. We enquired details regarding number of students, teachers, building, blocks, alumnus, extracurricular activities etc. then we took a group photo and get back to home.

It was an awesome experience there…….

First hour was taken by Giby ma'am. Giby ma'am taught about Characteristics of Personality. The appearance, behaviour, attitude, approach to something, mannerisms, thee language etc can be considered as characteristics.

Then discussed about adjustment that is the way we adjust with environment. 

•Acceptance Vs Adjustment. 

Teacher asked us to bloom where you are planted find opportunities from their, don't always try to complaint on what we don't have. Be happy with what we have.

Adjustment Process

When we had a Goal to achieve:

There will be a drive to reach the goal.If goal is too high to reach there is a frustration.If you receive more than one goal,Conflict arises. If the goal is not attainable and if we are deviating an undesirable path, it is known as mal adjustment. 

Next hour Maya Ma'am took the class. Ma'am taught about Humanism a school of Philosophy.

In our Optional hour we continued the microteaching practice.

In afternoon Joju Sir took PowerPoint presentation on Non projected Aids including Graphic aids, Display boards, 3 D aids, Audio aids Graphic aids include Cartoons, Charts, Comics, Diagrams, Flashcards, Graphs. Display board includes Black board, Bulletin, Magnetic board, Peg board. 

Then election took place Subinjith from my optional selected as Chairman, Aleena Selected as Vice Chairperson, Nikhil as Secretary Sreevineetha as Association Secretary and I got selected as lady representative. At the end Principal Sir Congratulated us.

Dear Chechies took  beautiful class today. What to say they presented everyskills in a bindblowing way. Their presentations attitudes, way of communicating with students, made each class so intresting.

Different models they presented the reinforcement they given to us. They were really a role model. Am sure our dearest Shiney miss moulded them like this. 

Me  as ethylene a phytohormone. The sweetest one.

College management conducted an orientation class on how the use of library, how to access digital library and E-library resources and the facilities available in the college library. The orientation class was taken by Renjini, our new librarian. It was very useful session.

Then after Principaland Dr Bindu ma'am came to the class to inform about the alotted schools for school induction programme. I got Sarvodaya ICSCE School. Together with me dearest Fathima was also alloted with the same school. 

The school induction will be held on two days 9th and 10th March.

We need to submit a short video lesson to our alloted schools and prepare an action plan. We have to either attend a class taken in school or to collect the online videos  from the alloted school based on our subjects. At last  we should submit a School Induction report to our optional teachers, along with Lesson template of the video lesson we had attended in the school. 

Lot of happy with that.
