HUMAN GENOME PROJECT 21/10/2021

Second day of online class. First hour was taken by Ancy miss. Teacher taught about human rights and graphical representations

Next hour was optional. Today miss taught about
Genetic engineering- Genetic engineering is the process of using recombinant DNA (rDNA) technology to alter the genetic makeup of an organism. Genetic engineering involves the direct manipulation of one or more genes. Most often, a gene from another species is added to an organism's genome to give it a desired phenotype.

Human genome project- The Human Genome Project identified the full set of human genes, sequenced them all, and identified some of the alleles, particularly those that can cause disease when they get mutated. Genes can be mapped relative to physical features of the chromosome, or relative to other genes. Primary goals were to discover the complete set of human genes and make them accessible for further biological study, and determine the complete sequence of DNA bases in the human genome

Tissue culture- Tissue culture, a method of biological research in which fragments of tissue from an animal or plant are transferred to an artificial environment in which they can continue to survive and function. The cultured tissue may consist of a single cell, a population of cells, or a whole or part of an organ.
